Here are some main rides, shows, and places to eat that you don't want to miss during your time at Animal Kingdom
This fast and casual cuisine is a unique restaurant located in Disney Animal Kingdom Pandora - The World of Avatar. It has a very unique menu compared to some of the other restaurants at Disney. The menu is inspired by Pandora's Bounty. They have healthful dishes and familiar flavors that look like they are from another world. View Menu
Mount Everest is the only roller coaster at Animal Kingdom, and the name is perfect for such a ride that goes so far up in the air. I truly enjoy the engineering behind this ride. Be sure to watch out for the Yeti ( a Big Foot like creature), it just may reach out to grab you. If you love the feeling of 'butterflies' in your stomach this is definitely the ride for you, you go forward and backwards, up and down. This is a very popular ride so try to get there early to avoid massive line wait times.
The Festival of the Lion King is a great puppetry, and broadway like show kids, parents, and even grand parents would absolutely love! It is so popular infact that their are multiple shows per day. You will get to meet Simba and his animal friends including Timon and Pumba. I enjoy this show so much that I make sure I watch it anytime I go to Animal Kingdom. While at the show, you will be immersed in songs from the Lion King like 'Can you feel the Love tonight', 'Just can't wait to be king', 'The circle of life', and 'Be prepared'. They also have audience participation , stunts, dancing, and you can sing along with the cast of Disney's Festival of the Lion King.
The Rivers Of Light is a beautiful night time show that features different animals on floats , like the wise owl, or the perseverance turtle as well as flowers that bloom during this night time spectacular. There are projected images on the water showing all types of animals. This is truly a river of lights.
Have you ever wanted to go to Africa and experience the Savanna and the wild life there. With this ride, you can do just that ! Now this isn't a roller coaster, or your typical ride, you ride off in an actual vehicle high off the ground to keep you and your family out of harms way of the animals, and get a tour of real-live exotic animals from the African savanna. These animals are not locked up in a cage but have the freedom to roam around in the area you are riding in. Sometimes the vehicle has to literally stop just to let giraffes and their babies or a rhino cross the path your vehicle is on. Their is an operator (driver) of the vehicle who will not only point out the different animals around, but also give you some information about both the animal and their habitat. The ride is a different experience during the night, when the nocturnal animals come out to play, and you will get nocturnal encounters. Through out this ride you will see the commitment Disney has to wildlife conservation. I highly suggest doing this ride once during the day and once during the night !
